Last week American Idol Finalist Adam Lambert returned to his hometown of Ranchos Peñasquitos, California as part of the American Idol “Top 3 Homecoming” special. Along with a gracious performance at his alma mater, Adam requested a visit with the Metropolitan Educational Theatre Network (MET2). Adam started doing theatre with MET2 at the young age of eight and continued training and performing with the group for eight years. After greeting executive producer and mentor Kathie Urban, Adam met with the youth cast of SEUSSICAL, Jr.

The cast performed a few numbers for Adam, who proudly looked on before replying with feedback and some advice for the young performers.  Adam also assured the 200 member cast that being different is "okay." He told them, “We’re artists. We’re all crazy. And that’s good-crazy!” Originally scheduled as a 45-minute session, Adam stayed over 90 minutes, giving back to such an important part of his past.

Also while home, Adam (and his parents) took to the Sundevil Stadium Track in a bright-red Ford Mustang convertible at Mount Carmel High School in Ranchos Peñasquitos, California - followed by his own high-school's cheerleading team. The famous Idol star graciously greeted his hometown audience and sang the 1991 Michael Jackson hit, “Black or White” and the 1982 Tears for Fears hit, “Mad World”, which had been audience favorites on American Idol.  Adam shared his gratitude with all 7,000 that attended the event.
