Synopsis
ELF, based on the hilarious Will Ferrell film, is the tale of Buddy, a young infant who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Buddy is raised by elves unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and his step-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
One of the most beloved Hollywood holiday hits of the past decade is ONCE AGAIN a full-grown Broadway musical!
After a successful first run in 2010, ELF comes back to the Hirschfield Theatre this season for a limited run (www.Elfmusical.com).  The production will run from November 9, 2012 through January 6, 2013 and reunites members of the original 2010 Broadway team while welcoming new cast members too.

Jordan Gelber (Avenue Q, All My Sons) will step into the lead role of Buddy the Elf, with Leslie Kritzer (A Catered Affair, Sondheim on Sondheim) as his girlfriend, Jovie.  Young actor Mitchell Sink will make his Broadway debut as Michael, Buddy’s brother.  “Seinfeld” star, Wayne Knight, will play to part of Santa.  Beth Leavel, Mark Jacoby, Valerie Wright, Adam Heller and Michael Mandell return to the roles they originated in the 2010 production as well as many returning ensemble members too.

The musical is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, The Drowsy Chaperone).  ELF broke records at the Hirschfeld box office three times over the course of its 58-performance run in 2010 and grossed $1,572,835.50 during Christmas week alone so be sure to secure your tickets for this season's ELF now!
