Richard Patterson has worked as Professional Licensing Associate since March 2015. Before that, he was a Customer Account Representative in the Amateur Licensing department. Hailing from Drexel Hill, PA, Richard studied Dramatic Literature and Creative Writing at New York University and worked as a licensing rep at Samuel French, Inc. before joining the MTI family. Besides licensing musicals, Richard is also a playwright and lyricist, having taken a number of writing courses at Primary Stages/Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA). He also frequently writes about theatre; his theatre features and reviews have appeared on Playbill.com, in The Sondheim Review, and in Exeunt Magazine, a UK-based online theatre magazine for which Richard serves as New York Editor. Favorite shows include Rent, Dogfight, Murder Ballad, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and Stephen Sondheim’s musicals (especially Passion).
