Hello,

One of the elementary school theatre classes our program teaches is interested in doing Willy Wonka in the fall for their after school theatre show. In choosing which version though, I was wondering if you could tell me a little more about the difference between the Jr. and Kids versions? Thanks so much!

Hi Lauren! The JR version is 60 minutes and generally tailored to be performed by middle school-aged children. The KIDS version is 30 minutes and meant for elementary school-aged children. For both shows, the music has been adapted to suit the vocal ranges of performers of those respective ages.

For Willy Wonka JR., the following songs have been cut from the full-length version: "Flying – Reprise," "Oompa-Loompa 5"

For Willy Wonka KIDS, the following songs have been cut: "Pure Imagination," "I Eat More," "Think Positive!" "I See it All on TV," "Cheer Up, Charlie," "Think Positive – Reprise," "In this Room," "There's No Knowing," "Chew It," "Flying," "I Want It Now," "Flying – Reprise," "Oompa-Loompa 5"
