Hello,I was considering Willy Wonka for my elementary Drama Club, but now that I see Little Mermaid, Jr. is available for licensing, I am thinking about choosing it instead. I work with a large group (my Seussical, Jr. had 81 participants).I have one boy who I would really like to feature - he was Jojo in last year's Seuss Jr. Since I am not too familiar with the Little Mermaid songs for this version, can anyone tell me which male part would have the most featured singing? I would really like to showcase his talent, and it will be his last year in elementary school, so I want to make sure I at least consider him for the appropriate role.Thank you!

We just finished Little Mermaid Jr. Maleesa is correct there are big numbers for Sebastian and Flounder. Sebastian's number is a lively Jamaican style backed by the entire sea chorus and Flounder has a 50's doo wop number backed by the 6 Mersisters. Both were great at showcasing each of our actor's talents. I have not seen Willy Wonka, so can only speak for LM. Good luck and have fun!

Hi Maleesa! You certainly are wise to tailor your show choice to feature a great boy...the very best way to recruit MORE boys for productions! Quite honestly, there are many more strong boy parts in Willy Wonka JR. than Little Mermaid JR. In LMJ the prince has a short solo, Sebastion has a great one,and Flounder sings "She's in Love". KIng Triton is an acting part, as well as. WWJR has Willy Wonka of course, Mike Teavee, Augustus, Grandpa Joe and Charlie Bucket. Order the perusals and really look at them, both are great shows, but you do have more opportunities to showcase boys in WWJR.

Hi Maleesa, On this site, click on SHOWS at the top, select what you are interested in, when the window of your show comes up, click on Licensing and more info on the left and follow the prompts. You can also directly call your MTI licensing agent for your state and they are more than happy to help!
