Absolutely. We did it about 10 years ago and are thinking of it again. Great opportunities for singer/actors.

Urinetown makes an excellent choice for high schoolers. It is extremely wacky, allowing students to throw inhibition to the wind and take risks and experiment with their characters. The pit is small, which can be a downer to the string players at the school; however, if it is difficult to get a pit together at your school, you are in business. Make sure that you get a strong pianist though... Preferably one that can really get into the music and learn the intricacies of the show. The humor is also much more relevant and is extremely satirical--allowing students to connect with the book even more. The subject matter is very relevant as well and the endless spoofs of musical theatre really get people excited. It is a heavy dance show, but energy is more important than skill.

That's great to hear! Haha, our school doesn't really have string players sadly enough, but thank you for the help! I downloaded the soundtrack and the looks of my shcool doing it just sounds better and better, thanks alot!
