INT. DIRECTOR'S OFFICE
The office is small, with a single desk covered in paperwork. There is a crooked music stand in the middle of the room, with a single sheet of music from last season's production of Newsies barely balanced, about to curl right off onto the gray floor. The desk chair has wheels, but they don't really work right and the seat wobbles. A guitar sits in the corner of the room, begging to be strummed.
The director sits awkwardly in his chair, it is pushed slightly back from the desk, as a lighting diagram on the desk beckons attention. Introspecting, "How am I going to make THAT work?" Suddenly, a chime comes from the computer. [ZOOMING IN]
FROM: FedEx. Subject: Packages have been delivered.
"WHAT did I order?" [ponders the director. At that moment, an excited castmember bursts open the office door, the resulting air pushing the Newsies sheet music off of its precarious position on the crooked music stand and sending it drifting to the floor.]
CASTMEMBER
"They're here! They're here! I can't wait to start dress rehearsal!!!"
DIRECTOR
"What are you talking about? What's here?" [In that moment, the director realizes that the packages are the costumes for this production of Mary Poppins. A smile begins to form.]
"FANTASTIC! They are even a day early! Quick, bring them here!" [Before the last words leave the director's mouth, the ecstatic castmember is bounding down the hallway. After weeks of grueling rehearsal, the fun part is about to begin!]

The castmember returns with two fellow actors carrying all four boxes of costumes, one carrying two boxes at once like a game of mobile Jenga. They open the boxes carefully...

CASTMEMBER 1
"Where's mine?"
CASTMEMBER 2
"It's here, ya dingus. Everything is labeled!"
DIRECTOR
"Let me see that." [The director takes one of the costumes out of the box and notices that it is labeled with the actor's name, measurements, and what costumes go for which scene. It has been altered to fit and lovingly prepared, just for this show!]
"Okay everyone, take this stuff out of my office. Ain't nobody got room for it in here. Bring it to the dressing rooms and finish unpacking it there."

Dutifully, the castmembers comply, grinning from ear-to-ear. They gather up the costumes and scurry off to the dressing rooms, completely forgetting the last several weeks of relentless rehearsals. The costumes are here, now it's real!
As the castmembers rush off, the light fades.
