Countdown to JTF 2011: Central, Louisiana's Community Theatre Gets Well-Deserved Recognition

Junior Theater Festival 2011The countdown to the 2011 Junior Theater Festival is on, and there is a palpable excitement in the air as groups from around the country prepare to travel to Atlanta, Georgia, to perform at the world's largest musical theatre festival dedicated to  elementary and middle school students.

The Central Community Theater, located in Central, Louisiana, will be represented by two groups: the CCT Elite Jr. group, as well as the CCT Elite Sr. group. The CCT Elite Jr. group will be performing selections from Disney's Alice in Wonderland, Jr., and intends to perform the show in its entirety in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, next March. The CCT Elite Sr. group will be performing selections from Disney's Aladdin Jr., and will also present the full length version this spring. Both productions will feature choreography entirely created by student choreographers Addie Dean and Alex Burns.

The 2011 Junior Theater Festival is presented by Music Theatre International and produced by iTheatrics and Atlanta's Theater of the Stars. The 2011 Festival will be held at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, GA and will bring together more than 1,800 students, teachers, and Broadway professionals to raise their voices in celebration of on-stage and backstage excellence in musical theater.
