Our Amazing Weekend at JTF Atlanta!
Our Amazing Weekend at JTF Atlanta!
We're still not fully recovered from the incredible 2020 Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta! Over the weekend, thousands of young performers sang and danced their hearts out. The weekend was filled with unconditional love and support and once again reminded us about the magic of Broadway Junior.
Here's a quick recap of this fabulous celebration:
This year, a staggering 6,532 participants descended on the Junior Theater Festival! 127 groups from across the globe were represented, included Broadway Junior Starts from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England, and China.
Over the course of one morning, all of these groups performed for their adjudications and received feedback from theater professionals. Naturally, they were all amazing!
How do we even begin to describe the past few hours at @JTFestival ? Bravo to everyone who gave their all at their adjudications! #JTF pic.twitter.com/APd1y8gvkP

JTF attendees also got a first look at upcoming Broadway Junior releases at the New Works Showcase. They were introduced to The Drowsy Chaperone JR., Elephant & Piggie's "We Are in a Play" JR., Matilda the Musical JR., Moana JR., and Newsies JR.
The festival was also graced with some outstanding guests, including President of Disney Theatricals Thomas Schumacher, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series stars Joshua Bassett, Olivia Rodrigo, and series creator Tim Federle, MTI authors Deborah Wicks La Puma and Mo Willems, bestselling novelist Jodi Piccoult, and Broadway star Caissie Levy.
We were so lucky to have some amazing guests at @JTFestival. Thank you, @Olivia_Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, @Nick_Chris_ , @jennyrlocke, and MTI authors Deborah Wicks La Puma & Mo Willems (@The_Pigeon)!

Leading up to the excitement, we invited groups to show their JTF A-game in the #BroadwayJuniorChallenge on TikTok. There were some impressive submissions!

Our gratitude goes out to everyone who made JTF Atlanta happen this year, especially our dear friends and partners at iTheatrics, Playbill, and Disney. In one week, we arrive in Sacramento for JTF West. We can't wait to see what's in store!
