You Will Be Found: Bringing the Iconic Scenery of Dear Evan Hansen to Your Stage
When Dear Evan Hansen opened on Broadway in 2016, Peter Nigrini’s original scenic projection design changed the landscape of musical theatre storytelling. For the first time, cutting-edge digital artwork was integrated into the scenic design as a part of the narrative, mirroring the chaotic, emotional world of social media.
MTI’s official scenery partner, Broadway Media, has worked closely with Nigrini to adapt his designs into a single-output Scenic Projections package, specifically engineered for the high school and community theatre stage. With this partnership, your theatre can now harness that same scenic magic from the original Broadway production.

From Broadway to the Classroom
To ensure the professional visuals translated seamlessly to the educational market, Broadway Media partnered with Wauwatosa West High School for the Dear Evan Hansen pilot production.
Director Adam Steffan noted that the projections functioned as an additional scene partner: "The projections created an immediate, emotionally connected world for the actors," Steffan shared. "It helped students understand how tightly performance and technology work together. For example, the visuals dictated specific blocking—Heidi on stage right for the phone call and Evan on stage left in the computer lab—to ensure the physical and digital worlds aligned perfectly."

Making it Your Own: Customizing “You Will Be Found”
One of the most iconic moments in the show is Evan’s “You Will Be Found” speech. Organizations licensing Dear Evan Hansen now have the opportunity to customize this segment to have the projections feature their own actor paying Evan Hansen directly into the scenery.
