Good night, kids.(MR. and MRS. LAMBCHOP begin to exit the room.)
ARTHUR
Dad?MR. LAMBCHOP

Will you leave the night-light on?MR. LAMBCHOP
We'll leave the night-light on. Now, get some sleep. MRS. LAMBCHOP
I'm making slumber party pancakes in the morning!(MR. and MRS. LAMBCHOP exit; they turn out the lights.)
COUSIN SOPHIE
Psst. Arthur. You asleep?ARTHUR
No. Not yet.COUSIN SOPHIE
Hey, Stanley. You asleep?STANLEY
Nope.COUSIN SOPHIE
Psst, Caleb, you asleep? CALEB
We're all awake Sophie, why?COUSIN SOPHIE
Just checking... Hey, Arthur!ARTHUR
What, Sophie?COUSIN SOPHIE
What would you wish for if you could wish on a falling star?ARTHUR
I'd wish for an "A" on my science test. JACKSON
That's it? That's the best you can think of?ARTHUR
I guess so. What would you wish for?JACKSON

A million dollars...COUSIN SOPHIE
More wishes!ARTHUR
Hey, Stanley, what would you wish for? STANLEY
I'd wanna do something amazing, be someone cool. Like...well...SIDE 2
(ARTHUR runs on, panicked and screaming. Three COOL KIDS enter from the opposite side of the stage.)ARTHUR
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!(panting)
OK. OK. Me and Stanley Stanley's cool now that he's flat and all we were waiting for the bus and the other cool kids were like
KING OF THE COOL KIDS
Whoah, Stanley, and 'lil kid bro Stanley, it's like totally windy...ARTHUR
...and me and Stanley were like "Yeah, it's windy..." And then the cool kids were all like:COOL KID 2
Yo, 'lil kid bro Stanley, dude, I got an idea. COOL KID 3
Totally fly.ARTHUR
So they held Stanley down, tied a string to his shirt, then one of the cool kids ran while holding the string, and another held Stanley by the shoulders, and Stanley started flying like a kite! COOL KID 3

Whoah, he's like, way up there, dude.KING OF THE COOL KIDS
Make him dive!ALL COOL KIDS
Cool!ARTHUR
But then, like, things took a tragic turn...KING OF THE COOL KIDS
Yo, freaks! The bus! COOL KID 2
Suh-weet!COOL KID 3
We're outta here...ARTHUR
They let go of Stanley's string and got on the bus.COOL KIDS
See ya' Stan. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!(The COOL KIDS exit.)
ARTHUR
I looked up at Stanley, and I looked at the bus. Stanley. Bus. Bus. Stanley. (a beat)
I mean come on! We're talking the cool kids here.
(a beat)
I got on the bus.
(a beat)
I know Stanley's dead. Or at least seriously injured. Or stuck in the power lines.
(getting "zapped")
Dzt... Dzzzt... Dzzzzzt!!!
(a beat)
Yeah, Stanley's probably dead. And I'm definitely grounded.
(a beat)
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
(ARTHUR runs off.)
