Inspiration

Fame Forever – Talent Spring Eternal (or Fame Forever, for short) is a direct sequel to the musical, Fame, which, in turn, is based on the movie of the same name. It was once again the conception of David De Silva (who is known affectionately as "Father Fame"); while Steve Margoshes returned to work on the music, newcomer Ben H. Winters was brought on to work the book and lyrics.

Fame Forever continues to follow the characters from the previous musical, although the action this time is set twenty years later. The Class of 1984 is celebrating its twentieth high school reunion, while a new crop of students is making its way through LaGuardia High School.

Productions

Fame Forever first hit the stage at the Kings Theatre with the Apollo Players in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2007. It had a twofold debut in America, with productions running nearly simultaneously at the Waterville Opera House in Maine and the The Players of Sarasota in Florida. The Congress Theatre in Eastbourne produced the English premiere of the musical some time after that. In 2013, the Father Fame Foundation produced the first professional cast recording of Fame Forever. The musical had its professional world premiere at the West End's Lyric Theatre on September 8, 2014, followed by a UK tour in 2015.
