James Ladds

James Ladds

Music Library Associate

James joined the MTI team in February 2021. He has an extensive background in Musical Theatre, both on and off-stage; from starting the rumble in West Side Story to splurge-gunning unsuspecting goons, James has performed in a wide variety of shows.

As a guitarist, James has performed in the pit for both professional and amateur productions of Pippin, Grease and Shrek, to name a few. He has also been fortunate enough to musically direct shows such as Rent, Mr. Burns and an original musical, 2016 the Musical that sold out a two-week run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Prior to joining MTI, James was a freelance copyist for orchestral music, working on scores by celebrated composers such as Michael Nyman, Param Vir and Rebecca Dale. He has engineered studio records for a variety of artists ranging from Choral Groups in Bristol Cathedral to independent artists’ debut releases and performs with an indie-folk band based in Bristol.
