Aaron Thielen has long been an advocate for the creation of new musicals. Most recently he and Michael Mahler wrote October Sky the Musical that had its World Premiere at the Marriott Theatre this season. The show will have it’s west coast premiere this fall at the Old Globe in San Diego.This writing team also wrote the award winning musical HERO, which was produced at the Asolo Rep in Sarasota and is slated to be produced again this coming year. Thielen also adapted the Twentieth century Fox Film For the Boys. He was also one of the creative forces in bringing the 2008 world premiere musical The Bowery Boys to the Marriott Theatre. He co-authored the award-winning All Night Strut, A Fascinatin’ Rhythm and Now And Forever: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with Marc Robin. As Artistic Director, he most recently helmed Godspell, La Cage, Cabaret, Dreamgirls, 9 to 5 and White Christmas.
