Disney's "rags to riches" story charms its way to the stage, fairy godmother and mice in tow.
The timeless fairy tale becomes a new audience favorite in
Disney’s Cinderella KIDS, an adaptation of
the treasured animated film geared toward young performers. Poor
Cinderella is endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and
stepsisters and denied a chance to go to the royal ball. With a little
help from her mice friends, and a lot of help from her Fairy Godmother,
Cinderella’s dreams come true. She goes to the ball, meets the Prince,
and falls in love!
With many great featured speaking
roles and minimal solo singing, this is the perfect show for large
ensembles. Most roles can be played by boys or girls and do not require
strong vocal skills. The chorus of mice can be expanded infinitely – a
great opportunity to involve elementary-age children. Although there are
four narrators indicated in the script, you can cast even more
depending on the size of your cast!
With a beautiful
score, including "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and the classic
"Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo," Disney's Cinderella KIDS will charm its way into your heart, and remind audiences
that dreams really can come true.

Not all Broadway musicals have had happy premises or happy endings. Popular musicals over the years which featured death or murder include: Redhead (1959), Sweeney Todd (1979), and West Side Story (1957).
