About Vanessa Becker Weig
I have been an artist educator for twenty-three years. In that time, I've served as Education Director for The Phoenix Theatre (now CATCO) in Columbus Ohio for ten years, Kentucky Conservatory Theatre for two years, and for the past four years I have been Education Director/Associate Artistic Director fort the  Woodford Theatre. I have directed, choreographed or acted in over 100 productions from middle school to professional. Favorite directing projects include The Kabuki Sleeping Beauty, Hairspray, and The Lion King JR. Favorite acting roles include Paulette in Legally Blonde, Anita in West Side Story and Annie Sullivan in a bilingual production of The Miracle Worker with Deaf and Hearing Actors. My creative heart belongs to the arts-meets-activism initiative The Girl Project, which I co-founded. And my heart — in general — belongs to my husband Eric, my three kids Emma, Jackson, and Ethan, and my two fur babies Dewey and Della. I hold a B.F.A. in Acting from Wright State University and a Masters in life and experience.

About Woodford Theatre Young Artists
Woodford Theatre Young Artists (WTYA) are a selected ensemble of musical theatre students exposed to professional and intensive training, performance opportunities and growth experiences, designed to strengthen their talents and prepare them for pursuing musical theatre or theatre in college and professionally. WTYA is part of the Woodford Theatre education and outreach programming. The WTYA curriculum focuses on discovering multiple disciplines, a variety of musical theatre dance styles and acting techniques, vocal performance, music theory, sight-reading, and overall musicianship. In addition, WTYA develops the artists’ understanding of all aspects of theatre including experience with design and technical theatre.
