Looking for Christmas musicals

Hi,My name is Matt Glickstein, and I was recently hired as "performing arts coordinator" at a K-12 school in Lanai, Hawaii (only school on island). In the past, every year the school does an elementary winter program where the students perform as separate classes and grades. For this winter, I would love to do a K-5 production where the kids all perform together--I also run a performing arts academy after school--and I'm thinking these are the kids that could have the lead roles. The rest of the kids could be ensemble or chorus parts. I spent some time searching today for Christmas or holiday-themed children's musicals (without being religious--this is a public school), but didn't find anything quite right. If anyone has any suggestions, or even has references of where to look, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Thanks for the info! I looked into "Annie Kids" and I think that it might be a great pick. My only concern is on if I could involve ALL students in grades K-5 (about 300). The main leading cast would be around the 11-20--does anyone who has experience with the show know if I could arrange it so the ensemble could be the remaining 250+ students? I could even have different "ensembles" of like K-1, 2-3, 4-5 to make it more manageable. I'd obviously have to get creative, but with a show like this, would that be possible? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks, Matt

Hi Matt, Congrats on being hired as the performing arts coordinator. Did you look at A Christmas Carol, or The Christmas Schooner? Unfortunately there are no KIDS versions of these shows. Most of the KIDS shows would be developmentally appropriate for K-5. BUT there may be some coming in the future. My elementary school has used shows with Christmas themes that you could look up in JWPepper's website or a lot of music catalogs. Best wishes, Spencer
