MIDDLE ELSA

I've been hiding my powers for years, but they're getting stronger!

KING AGNARR

Come here, my poor child.

(KING AGNARR goes to hug MIDDLE ELSA.)

MIDDLE ELSA

No. Don't touch me! I don't want to hurt you.

(reciting her mantra)

Conceal it. Don't feel it. Conceal it. Don't feel it...

(QUEEN IDUNA enters on the other side of the door.)

QUEEN IDUNA

Anna! It's time!

(MIDDLE ANNA enters and hugs her mother.)

MIDDLE ANNA

I'm going to miss you.

QUEEN IDUNA

We'll just be away a couple of weeks, my sunshine.

(Back on Elsa' s side, MIDDLE ELSA stands at a formal distance from KING AGNARR.)

MIDDLE ELSA

Please, do you have to go?

KING AGNARR

Yes. There are answers out there, Elsa - to help you, to help all of us. You'll be fine here.

MIDDLE ELSA

I'll try not to let you down, Father.

PABBIE

Born with the powers or cursed?

KING AGNARR

Born, and they're getting stronger.

BULDA

(examining Anna)

You're lucky she did not strike her heart. A heart is not so easily changed, but a head may be persuaded.

(PABBIE and BULDA each place a hand on YOUNG ANNA's forehead.)

PABBIE

We are removing all magic.

QUEEN IDUNA

You're removing all magic?

(PABBIE and BULDA pull the magic out, and release it into the air.)

BULDA

Yes. Even the magic that fills her memories, to be safe. She'll be all right.

YOUNG ELSA

Remove my magic, too. Please!

PABBIE

I'm sorry, we can't. Your powers are part of you.

YOUNG ELSA

But I'm afraid of what I'll do!

BULDA

Then fear will be your enemy.

PABBIE

Yes. Your fear will cause dangerous ice and snow.

KING AGNARR

We'll protect her.

PABBIE

Good. We must leave you now.

BULDA

We bid you well.

QUEEN IDUNA

Goodbye! And thank you.

(The HIDDEN FOLK exit.)
