NAPOLEON

(sniffs like crazy)
Smells like a man...
(sniff sniff)
And he's carrying something...
(sniff sniff)
Okay, he's close. You go for what he's carrying and I'll go for the seat of the problem.
LAFAYETTE
How come you always get the good part?
NAPOLEON
'Cause I outrank you, that's why! Attack positions!
SIDE 2
(The CATS march offstage then come back on, but now they are followed by LAFAYETTE, NAPOLEON, VICHY and SSOISE, whom they do not notice.)
LAFAYETTE
Say, Napoleon, if we're looking for that butler fella, how come we're marching behind a bunch of cats?
NAPOLEON
Well, how should I know that? You're the one who's up in front.
LAFAYETTE
Well, I say we should attack them.
VICHY
Yes, attack them.
SSOISE
I like attackin'.
NAPOLEON
Wait a minute! I'm the leader! I'm the one who says when we attack.
(pause)
Let's attack.
(The DOGS bark and chase the CATS, who run off in different directions.)
