Mamma Mia is a 2009 jukebox musical romantic comedy written by Brittish playwright Catherine Johnson, and based on the songs of ABBA. The musical if full of woman empowerment spirit which celebrates the theme of friendship and love. The show is about Donna, an independent innkeeper in the Greek islands, who is preparing for her daughter's wedding with two old friends. Meanwhile, Sophie the enthusiastic, young bride has a plan. She secretly invites three men from her mother's past in hope of meeting her real father and having him walk her down the aisle.
