Patch delay and volume control?

We are using the keyboard patch solutions on Aida. Two questions; it feels like there is a delay on certain patches (which is making it difficult to line up with the Rest of the orchestra). Any suggestions on how to navigate?
Also, is there a way to control volume within a specific patch over the course of a song? Also need to do fades...
