Hi Andrew! Have fun keeping it SIMPLE with costumes! Take a peek at the beloved books themselves and see why the very bold, uncomplicated illustrations have made Seuss "fans for life!" Create the CHARACTER you wish by your costume not being too literal. I will post some pics soon...all done with a teeny, teeny, teeny budget. You will have a ball with this show!!

Hi Andrew, We have had a number of schools perform Seussical Junior on small budgets. If you view the Seussical Jr. page here on MTI ShowSpace, you will see photos and videos of Seussical Jr. performers from the recent Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta. These schools do an excellent job of simply but efficiently communicating their character's identities through costume.

i would go for bright colors, and color groupings. for example jungle of nool uses all animal prints, whoo's in all yellow etc etc. this is also a great show to use masks and decorated hats. don't go for literal, and you'll do fine. a great example is have the wickersham brothers (who are monkeys) in t-shirts with a giant banana on them. just find clever ways to allude to charachters.
