New York, NY - Music Theatre International (MTI), the leading global dramatic performing rights agency, announced today that Drew Cohen has been elevated to the position of President.  He will continue to report to MTI's Chairman and CEO, Freddie Gershon.  Drew moves to his new role from the position of General Manager, a post he has held since 2004, prior to which he served as MTI's Director of Business and Legal Affairs.  Drew's early career included four years as an attorney with the law firm Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, after which he joined GlassNote Records and served as its V.P./General Manager.  Subsequently, he earned a master's degree from Harvard Business School and was then Director of Investments for a private family fund.

Freddie Gershon stated, "Drew's promotion to President underscores the confidence that we have in his outstanding abilities as a manager and strategic thinker as well as his character.  Most importantly, Drew has earned the respect and trust of the authors we serve as well as their representatives with whom we interact on a daily basis.  MTI's management team, with Drew as President, is positioned to lead the company forward and to continue to deliver the exceptional service and care that each of our authors and customers have come to expect from us, as well as expanding into new areas to serve our licensees through technological advancements."

Cameron Mackintosh, Gershon's partner in MTI, added: "Having known Drew for over 17 years, I am delighted that MTI will continue the legacy of its founder, Frank Loesser, as an owner-operated business.  The company has enjoyed extraordinary growth over the last 15 years under Freddie's remarkable guidance and we both can now look forward with confidence to a long-term future that will maximize the artistic and commercial viability of our authors' copyrights and continue to be a nurturing home for emerging talents."
