Grab your Girl Group and Go-Go!

Grab your Girl Group and Go-Go!

With SHOUTS!'s theme of female empowerment, why not cater to a Girls Night Out at the theatre?  While marketing to women as a whole may seem obvious, we’ve seen the most success with theatres around the country who have appealed to small groups of female friends out to have a good time. By adding another element of fun to the evening, you can draw them to the theatre for special events before or after the performance to sell more tickets for you and your partners. Here are a few of the favorites we have seen over the years:

Watusi Wednesdays & Frug Fridays: Partner with a local dance studio to give free dance lessons in the lobby prior to the show in exchange for promoting their studio
Twister Tuesdays: Partner with a local camp or the local YMCA/YWCA to have a counselor lead groups in games of Twister in exchange for promoting their organization
Makeover Mondays: Partner with a local salon to offer make-up sessions and manicures in the lobby prior to the show in exchange for promoting their salon

Take some of these ideas or come up with your own.  Appeal to “Girl Groups.” Consider lowering the minimum requirement for a group to four (4) – to encourage a Girls Night Out. You’ll find in this day and age it’s much easier for 4 girlfriends to get together and go to the theatre, than to organize a large group. You may ultimately sell more tickets this way!
