If you watched the fireworks being shot off the Hudson River Saturday night, you were treated to a gorgeous performance of a new Stephen Flaherty piece. According to this Playbill.com article, the MTI composer (Once On This Island, Ragtime, Seussical) was commissioned to write “American River Suite” for the 400th anniversary of the exploration of the Hudson River.
