Fernando Azpurua is a Venezuelan playwright, director, and actor with a rich background in international theater. His passion for storytelling ignited during his early years living in Paris, France. Later in life, Fernando studied Film Directing at FUC in Buenos Aires, before moving back to Caracas where he earned a BA in Communications from Monteávila University. As a theater director in Venezuela, he worked on notable professional productions such as Next Fall by Geoffrey Nauffts and La Double Inconstance by Pierre de Marivaux. As a playwright, he won the Venezuelan National Isaac Chocrón Award for Best Playwriting with his debut play Niños Lindos in 2014. As a Fulbright scholar, Fernando completed a master’s in Theater Studies at Montclair State University by 2020. He furthered his experience with Broadway theaters through Sound Associates. Currently, Fernando serves as an Amateur Licensing Representative at Music Theatre International, residing in the New York area.
