Kate Thomas is a musical theatre book writer and lyricist. She is a two-time Kleban Prize Finalist, two-time Jonathan Larson Grant Finalist, and 2021 PMCA Emerging Playwright Competition Winner. She is the writer of How to Train Your Dragon Jr. (with Veronica Mansour, DreamWorks/UTG), and her work has been developed with Prospect Theater Company, Apples and Oranges Arts, Manhattan School of Music, Athena Theatre Company, Monsterpiece Theater Collective, New York Theater Festival, The Dare Tactic, Open Jar, New York Theatre Barn, Steinhardt School of Music, Illinois Wesleyan, and Tisch. Her groundbreaking musical Forget Me Not (with Joey Contreras) intends to solve cold femicide cases through production thanks to a developing partnership with acclaimed forensic lab, Othram. Kate received her MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from Tisch School of the Arts. She is passionate about crafting inventive, original musicals that connect.
