Licensing your Broadway Junior® Musical
Everything you need to know about doing business with MTI, from becoming a customer to ordering a perusal script to licensing your Broadway Junior® musical, is laid out below.

-
In order to license a show and do business with MTI, you’ll need a MyMTI Account.

- Step 2: Select Your Musical
-
Whether you’re looking for a Broadway Junior® show based on a recent hit from Broadway, a timeless classic, a beloved Disney tune or something based on an award-winning book, we have something for everyone.
First Picks for First Timers
Shows in the First Picks Collection are musicals that have proven easy to produce, no matter the size or experience of your group. We’ve selected a few KIDS musicals as well as some JR shows that are great choices for beginners.
Read a Copy of the Script Before You Decide
Not sure what show you’d like to perform? Order a hard copy or an electronic perusal copy of a script so you can read the libretto to see if it’s right for your theatre. Read one or read several musicals to help you make the best decision. We strongly recommend you read the script before you book a show, even if you think you know a title. Only you know what material is appropriate for your school or community.
- Step 3: Complete Your License Application
-
After you have selected your Broadway Junior® musical, complete a license application online, providing us with your anticipated performance dates, your theatre's contact info and seating capacity, as well as your intended ticket prices.
Haven't yet settled on what show they want to produce? There is no cost or obligation to submit a license application, so you can submit multiple license applications, and then decide later.
- Step 4: Your License Offer / Production Contract
-
Once we approve your license application, you will then receive an “Offer.” The license offer is the Production Contract that your organization will sign in order to license the show. Please read and review it carefully as it outlines everything you are permitted and not permitted to do with that particular title. In all of our shows, there are contractual restrictions regarding the age of the performers, but it may also include restrictions on ticket prices, audience capacity, and the ability to record the performance; the contract also outlines your royalty payments and materials fees for that show.
Your license offer is only valid for six (6) weeks from the date of issue. To secure the rights outlined in the license, you should return the signed Production Contract with payment within the six weeks. If it is not returned within six weeks, show availability and the fees quoted may be withdrawn.
If you need to change the performance dates, venue or other details submitted in your application; or if your license offer has expired, simply log in to MyMTI and submit a new license application.
Payment
Payment must be received in full along with your Production Contract in order for the Offer to become a “Booking” and for your ShowKit® to be shipped.
For schools and government agencies only, a signed, authorized purchase order is accepted in lieu of full payment.
Your Booking
After we receive and process your signed Production Contract and payment, the Offer becomes a "Booking." You will receive a confirmation email letting you know your booking is confirmed, which is official permission to perform your show on the requested dates, and you can at that time announce your show and hold auditions.
Each booking entitles one cast of the performers to perform the show. If your organization produces shows with multiple casts or at multiple venues, please reach out to your licensing representative and they can help you make sure all your productions are licensed correctly.
Your Materials
Your ShowKit® of materials is yours to keep! If you need to order additional scripts, scores, etc., you can do so at any time. Materials ship as soon as we receive payment and your signed production contract.
