Front Row Theatrical Rental's Matilda premium set rental was built in 2018, bringing Roald Dahl’s whimsical world to life. The design features a massive 40' wide Bookcase Back Wall and bookcase legs that frames the show's action, seamlessly transitioning between the Wormwood's gaudy home and the library.
The dynamic set features a mobile Library with curved desk, a vibrant Wormwood Living Room, and a fully equipped Classroom with 10 desks. Unique to this package are the ground-based Swings, which are self-supporting and do not require a fly system to operate—a major technical advantage.
Additional highlights include Trunchbull’s Office with trophy case, a Flying Chalkboard surface, and special images to tell the Acrobat and Aerialist stories.
This set has been designed for venues with medium to large stages. The scenery consists of wagons and some hung elements. A fly system is recommended but the swings function without one. Installation takes between 8 and 10 hours+ depending on crew size.
