For over twenty years, Chris has been associated with many West End and Broadway shows including GODSPELL, OLIVER!, SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM, MY FAIR LADY, TOMFOOLERY, ME AND MY GIRL, CABARET, FOLLIES and HOT SHOE SHUFFLE, as either Musical Director or Orchestrator. He has provided orchestrations for the movies SHIRLEY VALENTINE and IMPROMPTU. He is also a prolific composer and record producer.

Chris worked as Musical Supervisor for the production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL at The Royal Festival Hall and as Musical Supervisor and Dance Arranger with the creative team of the RSC's Stratford-Upon-Avon production of THE SECRET GARDEN which transferred to the West End in February 2001, during which time he continued to act as Musical Supervisor and Musical Director as well as providing new dance arrangements. He was responsible for writing the dance arrangements for the Royal National Theatre/Cameron Mackintosh production of MY FAIR LADY which opened in February 2001 before transferring to The Drury Lane Theatre. During this time, he was also the Musical Director for the Donmar Warehouse Theatre s production of PRIVATES ON PARADE (Dec 2001) and in October 2002, Chris travelled to Houston, USA where he worked as Orchestrator/Dance Arranger for the Theatre Under the Stars production of the musical WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?

Other credits include writing the orchestrations and dance arrangements for the West End Production of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG which is currently running at The London Palladium and opens on Broadway in March 2005. He was also the Musical Director for the London production of RAGTIME and has recently finished working with its Olivier Award-winning star, Maria Friedman, on her one woman show. Maria and Chris have performed together at festivals throughout Europe and at The Carlyle Café in New York, where they returned last year for a second season.

More recent credits include writing the orchestrations for the Birmingham Stage Company s production of THE JUNGLE BOOK as well as the orchestrations for ALADDIN at The Old Vic Theatre in London.

Chris Walker has recently completed the orchestrations for the West End Musical ACORN ANTIQUES starring Victoria Wood and Julie Walters and is currently adapting the orchestrations and dance arrangements for the Broadway production of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG as well as composing a number of original projects including a new musical adaptation of THE VICAR OF WAKEFIELD.
