Jill Abramovitz

Jill Abramovitz is an award-winning lyricist and bookwriter who lives in New York City. She co-adapted the Leah Napolin play The Dogs of Pripyat which garnered the Weston Playhouse New Musical Award, the Jerry Bock Award, was a NAMT selectee and was part of Goodspeed’s Festival of New Artists. Jill was commissioned to write lyrics for TheatreworksUSA’s Martha Speaks, and is the lyricist/bookwriter for Bread and Roses as well as contributing lyricist on Broadway’s It Shoulda Been You

She is a past Dramatist Guild Fellow and a proud member of the BMI Advanced Workshop, where she won the Harrington Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre Writing. Her lyrics have been featured on the popular web series Submissions Only, Sirius XM’s Stage Door Supper Club and she is currently developing an untitled project with Brad Alexander and Barry Wyner (Calvin Berger).  Jill’s song "Happy", with music by Joy Son, is part of the BMI Workshop Songbook and is an uptempo comedy favorite on NewMusicalTheatre.com.
