TYA vs. Jr?

I see that Big was released as a TYA production. Can someone explain the difference between this and a junior version of a show? My school has only ever done junior versions (we're a 7th and 8th grade school) because we don't have a band, so we need the accompaniment CD. Do the TYA shows come with this?

accredited school

Hi I am a teacher at a high school (Years 7 to 12) in Australia. The Licensing step by step information on your website mentions that accredited schools get a special price on the showkits. Are we able to become accredited, and if so how? If not, what is the price for Broadway Jnr showkits for non-accredited schools? Many thanks Jenny Roff

How many performances of Honk! Jr. are recommended for a small town children's theater?

How many performances of Honk! Jr. are recommended for a small town children's theater? I am currently contracted w/ MTI for two shows but now have parents questioning why we aren't doing more. Just wondering what the statistics bear for a relatively unknown show such as Honk! Jr. Thanks

Many Male Leads, good sized orchestra- not pop.

Hi everyone- I am looking for suggestions on a show within the following parameters and would appreciate suggestions:- We have at least 4-6 very well trained male singers, and maybe 4 really good female singers.- We are looking for a large cast, and medium to large orchestra. The orchestra is a very advanced group of high school kids.- not really seeking a rock show unless it has a large orchestra.- minimal to no dancing.- we were thinking les Mis but rights are not avail. So far we are liking Into The Woods- but I would love other suggestions.

Difficulty of Shows

Hello, I am a director/Producer of the childrens theater program at a community theater. Over the last few years our program has grown significantly. We started a few years ago doing a non mti veruions of Pinnochio with 12 children and last year did Little Mermaid Jr with 50. We are thinking about beauty and the beast jr this year, but are expecting a extreamly large turnout. Going forward, we are toying with the idea of breaking our program into two separate shows, like 6-12 and 12-18. I know I saw on here before a post about which shows are more difficult and what would be better for young kids. Do you have a breakdown?

Shrek the Musical Casting

Hello,My community theater group is considering Shrek for our summer 2014 musical. I am putting together a proposal, and was wondering if anyone who has already done it could share how they did casting with the ensemble. I am trying to make heads or tails about what roles can be double cast and what works well with costume changes etc. Thanks!
